NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has announced that special season deer and turkey permits remain available for upcoming hunts scheduled for various counties in the middle and west areas of Tennessee.

The permits available are on a first come, first serve basis. Permits can be purchased at any TWRA license agent or through the internet at the TWRA Web site at www.tnwildlife.org. The receipt will serve as the permit and no permits will be mailed. No phone sales will be accepted.

A permit fee will not be charged to Annual Sportsman (Type 004) or Lifetime Sportsman (Types 402 thru 405) license holders or Senior Citizen Hunters (Type 166) with an Annual Senior Citizen Permit (Type 167). For all other license holders, the cost is $20 per permit, plus agent fee.
Individuals may obtain up to five (5) permits for deer and five (5) permits for turkey per person. Individuals may obtain more than one (1) permit for the same hunt and in any combination of deer and turkey choices. Leftover permits will be available until Dec. 27, 2009. Permits are not transferable.
