Two Mule Deer Harvested Near Buffalo and Kaycee
Oct. 13, 2008SHERIDAN, WY - Two buck mule deer harvested on Oct. 3, 2008, in northeast Wyoming from deer hunt areas 26 and 29 tested positive for chronic wasting disease (CWD), a brain disease known to affect some deer, elk and moose.
A mule deer buck harvested in hunt area 39 near Bull Mountain, about 23 miles north of Lysite, has tested positive for chronic wasting disease (CWD), a brain disease known to affect some deer, elk and moose. This is the first time that CWD has been detected in hunt area 39.

BAGGS - Cameras installed at the new highway underpass on U.S. Highway 789 north of Baggs revealed that nearly 500 mule deer used the underpass in mid-October.
CHRONIC WASTING DISEASE DISCOVERED IN DEER HUNT AREA 46 - Oct. 19, 2009
CODY- Chronic wasting disease (CWD) a fatal neurological disease of deer, elk and moose, has been discovered in deer hunt area 46 on the west slope of the Bighorn Mountains. A mule deer buck taken on September 13, 2009 in the Shell Creek drainage about 14 miles east of the town of Shell has tested positive for the disease.
UNDERPASS TO PROTECT MIGRATING DEER - Oct. 12, 2009
BAGGS - A new highway underpass has been installed on U.S. Highway 789 north of Baggs to assist migrating mule deer crossing the highway to winter range and to help protect motorists from colliding with big game animals.
Exotic Louse Found on a Mule Deer Near Saratoga - May. 26, 2009
LARAMIE-- An adult mule deer buck collected from hunt area 80 near Saratoga was found to have a heavy infestation of the exotic louse Bovicola tibialis. This is the first time this nonnative external parasite has been documented in Wyoming.

JACKSON - Last week, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department announced that a three-year-old cow moose they had collected in Star Valley had tested positive for Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD), a fatal neurological disease of deer, elk and moose that affects the brain, causing weight loss, abnormal behavior and, eventually, death.
