Oct. 3 is Deadline For Western Oregon Deer, Cougar, Bear Tags: Get NW Oregon Goose Permit at POS Agent This Year

Lines tend to be long on deadline day, so get to an ODFW office or point-of-sale agent sooner rather than later. Remember that while ODFW’s point-of-sale system no longer shuts down at 11 p.m., many stores close well before that hour. Even stores open 24 hours may not have staff available to do license sales at odd hours. Stores have also been known to stop accepting customers because of long lines.

DAYVILLE, Ore.?State land on Phillip W. Schneider Wildlife Area will be closed to all public access from Feb. 1-April 14, 2011 and in future years.

ODFW and USFWS bolster endangered Columbian white-tailed deer population - Jul. 01, 2010
In an effort to bolster the endangered Columbia River population of white-tailed deer, agency biologists relocated eight deer from Douglas County, Oregon to the Julia Butler Hansen Refuge in Cathlamet, Washington. The deer were captured, disease tested, transported, collared and released in March 2010.

SALEM, Ore.-The deadline to purchase a Western Oregon general deer, bear, or cougar tag is this Friday Oct. 2 at 11:59 p.m. PT. Most rifle deer hunting seasons open Saturday, Oct. 3.

Nearly 14,000 Private Acres in Harney County to Open For Public Hunting During 2008-09 Season - Aug. 08, 2008
Two Harney County landowners have been awarded a total of $37,583 in grant funds from the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Access and Habitat program to open their properties to public hunting access from Aug. 1, 2008 to March 1, 2009.
