The proposed change is to move Fayette County from Deer Zone B to Zone A.

COLUMBUS, OH - Hunters took 17,108 deer during Ohio's four-day muzzleloader season, January 8-11, with Tuscarawas County again leading the state with 914 deer checked. In 2010, a preliminary total of 24,078 deer was taken during muzzleloader season, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Wildlife.

DAYTON, OHIO - The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife announced that another record-setting deer has been harvested in southwestern Ohio. On Saturday, January 30, the 18-point non-typical (non-symmetrical antlered) deer, taken by Brian Stephens on November 30, 2009 with a muzzleloader in Highland County, was officially scored.

Chronic Wasting Disease Not Detected in Ohio Deer - Jan. 07, 2010
COLUMBUS, OH - For the eighth straight year, testing of Ohio's deer herd has found no evidence of chronic wasting disease (CWD), a degenerative brain disease that affects elk, mule deer and white-tailed deer.
