White-Tailed Deer Tests Positive for CWD in Virginia - Jan. 26, 2010RALEIGH, N.C. (January 26, 2010) - The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission is warning citizens that a white-tailed deer in Virginia has tested positive for Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD). As a result, North Carolina taxidermists can no longer accept full heads for mounts from Virginia and must inform wildlife officers if they receive one.
Fee Now Applies to Bonus Antlerless Deer Harvest Report Card - Jul. 14, 2009
RALEIGH, N.C. (July 14, 2009) ? Under a new law that went into effect July 1, hunters can continue to acquire an unlimited number of Bonus Antlerless Deer Harvest Report Cards each season; however, they will now be charged a $10 administrative fee for each report card they receive.
