Deer Archery Season Opens Statewide Friday, Oct. 1 - Sep. 28, 2010
The Department of Natural Resources and Environment reminds hunters that the archery deer season opens statewide on Friday, Oct. 1. The season runs from Oct. 1 to Nov. 14, then reopens after the firearm deer season for late archery hunting Dec. 1 to Jan. 1.

Michigan Deer Harvest Decreases Nine Percent in 2009 - Jul. 13, 2010
Michigan hunters harvested about 9 percent fewer deer in 2009 than they did in the previous season, according to Department of Natural Resources and Environment wildlife biologists.

Public Invited to Attend DNRE Open Houses to Discuss Deer Management Plan - Mar. 05, 2010
The Department of Natural Resources and Environment is inviting the public to participate in the deer management planning process. Four public meetings have been held, and another four are occurring in the next couple weeks. The DNRE will present and discuss the draft statewide deer management plan. These meetings will be held 7 to 9 p.m. EST, with the exception of the Crystal Falls meeting, which will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. CST.

DNRE Invites Public to Discuss Draft Deer Management Plan - Feb. 11, 2010
The Department of Natural Resources and Environment is inviting the public to participate in the deer management planning process. Throughout February and March, eight public open house meetings will be held across Michigan to discuss the draft statewide deer management plan. DNRE Enters Agreement With Quality Deer Management Association - Feb. 04, 2010
The Department of Natural Resources and Environment has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Quality Deer Management Association and its Michigan chapters and branches establishing a framework for cooperation on mutually beneficial projects and activities that maintain and enhance the state's natural resources.
