Hunters are stationed in a circle around a tower and the birds are released individually or in small groups. After 20 birds are released downed birds will be retrieved, and hunters will move to a different station.

We are also aided by the physical layout of the area in trying to pattern deer movement. This becomes a real factor late in the season when the coming winter starts deer moving off the ridges to lower ground and to wintering areas.
