UNDERCOVER OPERATION NETS ANOTHER FOR SELLING DEER - Jan. 27, 2010
Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) Enforcement Division agents cited a Bayou Pigeon man for his connection to an illegal deer market.

L.D.W.F. REMOVES RESTRICTIONS ON DEER HARVEST FOR SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA - Jan. 14, 2010
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) has restored the either sex hunting season, effective Jan. 4, 2010 in that portion of southeast Louisiana that was previously closed due to flooding.

L.D.W.F. AGENTS SEIZE EIGHT DEER FROM MISSISSIPPI HUNTERS - Jan. 13, 2010
Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Enforcement Division agents arrested one hunter and cited 10 more on Dec. 29, 2009, for alleged wildlife violations on a hunting lease near Clayton in Concordia Parish.

DEER DECOY LANDS POACHERS IN JAIL - Dec. 15, 2009
John D. Youngblood, 42, and Jeffrey A. Miles, 37, both of Pineville were arrested in Rapides Parish for numerous hunting and drug violations after they allegedly shot a deer decoy near the Camp Beauregard Wildlife Management Area (WMA) on Nov. 7.

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF), acting upon notification from the caretakers of High Delta Exotics in Richland Parish, has issued an alert for escaped exotic deer in the Delhi area.

EFFECTS OF RECENT FALL FLOODING ON WHITE-TAILED DEER - Oct. 29, 2009
With central and north Louisiana rivers and backwater systems flooding from the high rainfall amounts both instate and further north, white-tailed deer are being forced onto higher ground and concentrated in smaller areas.

L.D.W.F. RELEASES 2008-09 DEER HARVEST RESULTS - Aug. 11, 2009
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) has posted the results of the 2008-09 deer harvest at www.wlf.louisiana.gov/hunting. LDWF compiled the deer harvest data by utilizing a mail-in survey, internet/phone deer tag reports and Wildlife Management Area (WMA) managed deer hunts.
