HOT SULPHUR SPRINGS, Colo. - In order to protect wintering deer herds, the Colorado Division of Wildlife has implemented an immediate seasonal closure of the Byers Canyon Shooting Range west of Hot Sulphur Springs.

FLORISSANT, Colo. - A 63-year-old woman was gored by a buck mule deer near Florissant on Mon., Oct. 12. Joan Nutt was at the home of her sister at 893 Co. Rd. 31, around 5 p.m. when the attack occurred.

Youth 4th Season Deer Hunt Opportunity - Oct. 05, 2009
MEEKER, Colo - The Colorado Division of Wildlife Hunter Outreach Program and a private landowner in the Meeker area are teaming up to offer a special youth deer hunting opportunity during the upcoming 4th Rifle Season. This is a unique, guided private-land deer hunt in Game Management Unit 23 for one young person between the ages of 12 and 17 who holds a valid Colorado Hunter Safety Card.

The Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) is asking for help solving a poaching crime in southeast Colorado. Sometime during the weekend of Oct. 18-19, two mule deer were shot and left on the Comanche National Grasslands south of Rocky Ford.
